  • Demonstrated ability overseeing and participating in research activities, generating insights and effectively using qualitative and quantitative data to drive improvements
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile team, including the ability to scope and break down work into design deliverables, and tailor methods and processes to set timeboxes
  • Demonstrated experience using Miro, Figma, Microsoft PowerPoint and other design software to communicate designs for executive and delivery teams
  • Preferably, the candidate has some understanding of the Australian Government’s Digital Service Standard and/or the UK Design Council’s Double Diamond Model
  • Experience working for a federal government agency in a design capacity preferred
  • Preferably, the candidate has versatility across a wide range of user experience practices, including user research, stakeholder engagement, information architecture, interaction design, UI/visual design, prototyping and testing.

The Program Managers will be required to:

  • Define and drive the program/project schedule in consultation with the department’s executive, Program leadership, and program/project management colleagues.

The candidate requirements
Essential criteria:

  • Proven leadership experience in Agile delivery with the ability to communicate effectively and all levels of Government.
  • Proven experience applying Agile methodologies within a Government setting.
  • Demonstrated experience assisting organisations to transition from traditional project and program management methodologies to Agile ways of working.
  • Demonstrated experience in a government setting delivering projects within a modernisation or transformation program of work.
  • Significant experience in managing and delivering 5+ programs/projects concurrently.
  • Previous experience in defining and managing key performance indicators within program/project teams and delivering successful programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in delivering high quality written communication including Executive briefings at SES levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering projects within a commercial construct, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Experience and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team that places a core emphasis on culture and is highly collaborative.

Desirable

  • Agile or scrum certification
  • Strong experience with project methodologies and tools specifically DevOps and MS Project or other industry standards. Tertiary and/or Professional Qualifications within the Project Management, Business Management or Public Administration sectors
  • Knowledge of, or ability to, quickly gain knowledge of Australian electoral law and practice.

  • Develop and document detection and alerting use cases specific to the Department’s IT environment and threat model.
  • Implement and tune custom detections and analytics rules based on developed use cases in Microsoft 365 Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Develop knowledge articles, playbooks and procedures to support incident response activities based on use cases and the Department’s IT environment.
  • Collaborate with security engineers, infrastructure teams, system owners, and application development teams to develop and implement system-specific security monitoring approaches.
  • Determine and drive team priorities, including implementation of toolsets and ingestion of log sources, to improve capability.
  • Lead major and critical incident response investigations.
  • Action escalated and complex security alerts and incidents.
  • Mentor and lead other Cyber Security Analysts within the team.
  • Provide advice and support to the Director, Cyber Operations and Executives as required.

The candidate requirements
Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst working in Security Operations Centre, including detection engineering and incident response responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in Microsoft Sentinel and Defender products, including responding to alerts and incidents and developing custom detections and analytics rules
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and investigating security log from different platforms and devices
  • Demonstrated experience in strengthening the maturity of a SOC.

Desirable criteria: 

  • Experience facilitating incident response simulations.
  • Experience utilising threat intelligence services and tools to inform detection engineering and enrich alerts and incidents
