  • Ideally, you also possess experience contributing to a project’s progression through the One Defence Capability System.

The Role:
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Work as part of the AIC team to ensure the updated AIC plan and all required annexes are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Support the reviewing of contract documents to ensure all AIC considerations are planned, addressed and captured. This role will require extensive collaboration with a number of suppliers and subcontractors. A focus on analysis.
  • Consistent with HDA’s Industrial Development and AIC strategies, plan, coordinate and manage AIC program activities (including the preparation of deliverables and transfer of technology).

The Role
Seeking for expressions of interest in multiple roles within the Maritime Electronic Warfare Combat Management subsystem team. Work on green fields evolutionary developments to incrementally modernise the Navy’s EW command and control capabilities to meet the demands of an ever-increasing complex maritime environment.  

The program involves systems design and development of custom hardware and software subsystems, which will be fully integrated into the ship’s critical systems.

  • Systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to satisfy the system requirements.
  • Creation of verification statements, perform technical risk analysis, as well as planning, documenting, and executing verification and validation activities.
  • System design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that the system architecture is compatible with the baselined product and is consistent across all subsystems and that the system design will meet the system level performance requirements.
  • Support specialty engineering tasks including system safety engineering, security engineering, human factors, EMC/EMI.
  • Be a member of a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled professionals.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable Definition, Design, Development, Integration and Verification experience in one or more of the following fields: Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Communication, Software and/or RF Systems.
  • High level of computer literacy coupled with strong Microsoft Office application skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills essential.
  • Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Demonstratable experience in Defence Systems Engineering processes and tools (e.g. DOORS).

The Role 

The Program Manager LAND 159 Munitions is responsible for undertaking the successful execution of programs involving munitions through the assigned activities. Responsible for all aspects of the munitions program, you will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Defence as well as coordinate with other departments to ensure the successful and timely completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have an established background in program management and more specifically a robust knowledge of munitions, with excellent organisational skills, communication and scheduling abilities.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strong technical knowledge across a range of munition products
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget
  • Manage project progress and adapt work as required, including changes to the project scope, schedule and cost
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Identify and manage risks, issues and opportunities
  • Collaborate with other program and project managers to support completion of assigned tasks 
  • Report to Directors on progress of the project deliverables
  • Coordinate internal resources and external third parties for the flawless execution of projects
  • Coordinate project meetings regarding munitions and oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation 
  • Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for key stakeholders
  • Review of data items required by munitions contracts
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships and influence key decision makers within Defence on areas relevant to the contracted scope of work
  • Oversee support to the integration of munitions onto relevant platforms
  • Participate in the tender process for any programs involving munitions, this includes the development, submission and review processes
  • Manage suppliers and coordinate the delivery of product to and the client
  • Review munitions acceptance documentation from suppliers to enable acceptance of munitions by customers
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders when required, to assist in the delivery of munitions products to NIOA customers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by upper management
  • Identify growth and new business opportunities and provision of support when required

Experience and Qualifications
Essential

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the management of munitions in either engineering or logistics
  • Project management experience including formal qualifications in Project Management that meets the minimum requirements of the
  • Level 4-5 or the ability to obtain this following successful appointment
  • A high level of understanding of munition introduction into service requirements
  • Understanding of national and international munition standards and regulations
  • Excellent client-facing and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to work pragmatically under pressure when solving complex problems within tight time frames
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally 

Desirable

  • Broad knowledge of ADF LAND programs
  • Demonstrated experience of operations in the munitions’ environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all the elements of Product Support particularly logistics, engineering, logistics support analysis, training and technical publications
