The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our client’s team in Canberra. As the Contracts Administrator you will work closely with the client company’s management to negotiate and prepare tenders, as well as making sure the company is in compliance with regulations. You will be in charge of administration of sub contracts (procurement, payments, variation assessment).

The Role
The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Preparation of subcontractor tender packages, scope of works, contract documentation and procurement schedules
  • Preparation of head contract progress claims
  • Submission and evaluation of variations
  • Head contract administration
  • Prepare end of month costs reports for presentation to the Construction Manager
  • Administer RFIs to clients and consultants
  • Assisting Project Manager with daily operations
  • Maintaining project document control
  • Build relationships and negotiate with suppliers

  
The Candidate 
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or a similar field preferred, but not required
  • Sound knowledge of the residential market including, sub-contractors, suppliers etc.
  • Experience working on complex or multiple projects
  • Demonstrated proven track record of the successful delivery of contract across residential and/or commercial projects.
  • A strong background in contracts administration or quantity surveying
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Site and Project Manager to join our client’s team in Canberra. As the Site and Project Manager you will work closely with the client company’s management to plan and coordinate project engineering assignments with technical specifications and preparation of detailed plans.

The Role
The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Maintaining and ensuring all work is of high standard and compliant with quality control frameworks.
  • Understanding and complying with company and project policies, processes and guidelines.
  • Building strong relationship and networks with clients, project teams, design teams and subcontractors.
  • Monitoring field progress against budget and forecasting cost.
  • Coordinating resources including manpower and monitoring progress, evaluating results and recommending changes in specifications or plans as appropriate.

  
The Candidate 
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive building experience, preferably in housing
  • Possess a white card and asbestos awareness certificate
  • Organised – Ability to stay across multiple issues and prioritise
  • Good time management – efficient and effective
  • Initiative and Self-motivated – someone who doesn’t need continued guidance and can look for the next task independently
  • Team orientated- personable and ability to operate as leader of a team

The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Site Foreman to join our client’s team in Canberra. As the Site Foreman you will work closely with the client company’s project delivery team and will see you involved in a variety of tasks including subcontractor management, EH&S & quality management and project planning.

The Role
The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Quality check all work
  • Client appointments and inspections
  • Be hands on managing all phases of the projects
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Schedule and coordinate trades on multiple job sites
  • Maintain high level of paperwork, invoices, job programs
  • Site inspections to assess progress and follow up on sub-contractors
  • Interpret building plans, engineer reports, specifications and codes of practice

The Candidate 
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Communication – ability to effectively communicate down, across and up the chain
  • Influence – See the bigger picture, and shape an outcome towards that, be decisive
  • Commercial savvy – Understand the fundamentals of financial management, risk and profitability
  • Team orientated/people management – able to draw together the skills from sub-contractors and team members to achieve a result
  • Organised – critical thinking – ability to analyse data and information to pre-empt issues. Ability to stay across multiple issues without getting overwhelmed, prioritise and resolve in a methodical way
  • Eligible to apply for security clearance
  • Trade background or Licenced Builder (highly desirable) or tertiary qualified
  • Previous experience in a Foreman role across construction projects
  • Technically minded with great understanding of the building process from ground to completion and interiors
  • Great with clients and resolving issues
  • Keen eye for detail and passionate to deliver a top-quality finish
  • Ability to support and manage subcontractors keeping a positive relationship
  • Demonstrate a high level of OH&S and QA knowledge
