Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced Incident Manager contractor with public sector experience to work on the various stages of the project lifecycle, for a government division.

The Role:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the incident management process; and overseeing problem management
  • Responding to reports of incidents; and initiating the incident management process including the management of the incident, communicating and coordinating with business areas, external 3rd parties, and team members involved in resolving incidents.
  • Prioritising incidents according to their urgency and priority impacts, and identifying the cause of incidents with the aim to proactively prevent incidents from happening and minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented.
  • Conduct regular analysis on incidents and continuous improvement activities relating to incidents and its synergies with knowledge management, system reporting, training, problem management, and change management.
  • Provide support to the Command Centre for requests for information/further details on incident reporting.
  • Act as an escalation point for more complex faults and problem rectification, including logging, escalation and coordination with team members and other IT support areas. Liaise and consult with clients and other areas on
    technical support issues and problem resolution.
  • Ensure all staff, in particular the on call person, are aware of outages and system changes that could impact their work.
  • Provide analysis and advice on complex issues and contribute to the management, preparation and coordination of governance and policy;.
  • Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals. In addition, represent the agency by promoting it’s interests in various forums.
  • Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.

 
The Candidate:

  •  Minimum 3 years experience working in IT service management or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks and their relationship with service management
  • Excellent relationship building and collaboration skills across a vast array of internal and external teams and stakeholders, and the proven ability to communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment whilst setting priorities and delivering quality results within time constraints.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and time management skills.
  • Proven analytical abilities with the ability to propose and facilitate change and contribute to business improvement strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development and promoting professionalism.
  • Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters

Desirable Criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications in ITIL and incident management.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM toolset.

  • Analyse business requests and use sound judgment to identify solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Install, configure, test and troubleshoot IT hardware and software.
  • Resolve issues related to usability, customisation and connectivity.
  • Receive, check and process purchase requests and verify incoming and outgoing goods against records.
  • Create and maintain records with a strict degree of accuracy.
  • Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including representing the work area at internal and external meetings and conferences.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities.

The Candidate:

  • Ability to coordinate the packaging, shipping, collection, auditing, and tracking of goods and assets.
  • Ability to conduct simple logistical functions such as: contribute to logistical planning, stocking and disposal operations.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and experience in successfully completing allocated tasks and delivering quality results.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst liaising with stakeholders and assisting to resolve issues across a geographically dispersed network.

  • Experience in delivering high quality written communication including Executive briefings at SES levels.
  • Experience and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team that places a core emphasis on culture and is highly collaborative.

Desirable criteria:

  • Agile or scrum certification
  • Strong experience with project methodologies and tools specifically DevOps and MS Project or other industry standards.
  • Relevant experience Enterprise Service Management and Business Process Reengineering projects.
  • Ability to work onsite within an office location.

The Department is an early adopter of cloud technologies, with a significant number of our key applications implemented in the cloud, particularly using Microsoft Azure and O365 cloud services. We also have active legacy system de-commissioning and migrate to cloud programs in place.

The Role:
Enterprise Architects will drive common approaches and deliver an architecture that supports business needs for the Department and the whole of government strategic direction. They will work with relevant program solution architects to help them understand the program requirements and vision and provide liaison with the Department’s architectural and delivery stakeholders. Enterprise Architects will also be required to provide input to the Department’s ICT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture.

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in enterprise architecture, with proven experience working with and leading solution, data, infrastructure and application architects to help them define, design and document ICT solutions that are consistent with the future-state architecture, identifying opportunities for sharing and re-use of data, processes and technology assets across a program or organization
  • Experience in identifying and scoping needs and opportunities for common platforms and services across the enterprise, understanding the current landscape and communicating the future-state architectures to relevant stakeholders, ensuring that key decisions are recorded with adequate traceability, and that relevant stakeholders have appropriate input into the development of the architecture
  • Excellent skills in communication, judgement, research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, problem solving, planning and time management, and an ability to undertake appropriate reviews and approval processes required to achieve acceptance and approval of future state architecture and other required decisions
  • Application of whole of government policies such as the DTAs Digital Service Standard and the Australian Signal Directorate Information Security Manual (ISM)
  • Experience in Digital Transformation, Enterprise Architecture tools and methodologies, developing cost models and provision of advice on cost management, authentication frameworks, patterns, roadmaps, architecting and consuming whole-of-government capabilities as part of enterprise solutions, including cross-agency collaboration and negotiation
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture and approaches, particularly Microsoft offerings

The Security Engineer/Developer should have experience in design and implementation of cyber security monitoring and reporting services, specifically with regards to secure gateway operations and configuration of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services. Skills and experience in IBM QRadar, network gateways and the Mitre Att&ck and Mitre D3fend frameworks are preferred. Provide security analysis of the current state, report options and recommendations, and specify an uplift and enhancement program for the reporting of cyber metrics to Customers of the Services Australia Shared Services Gateway.

The Role:
Services to be provided include, but not limited to the following:  

  • Responsible for delivery of optimal cyber security solutions
  • Oversee the design, installation and operation of security
  • Monitoring and reporting processes and solutions
  • Provide broad technical support and design services for project
  • Build, test and solution deployments for security solutions and controls

  • Demonstrated experience and success with design and implementation of gateway and network security monitoring solutions in large complex environments, including specialist knowledge of SIEM configuration, SOC operations and reporting.

Weighted criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in the configuration and deployment of IBM QRadar, use case development and associated reporting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry Cyber Security frameworks, best practices and standards including the Mitre Att&ck and D3fend frameworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of security solutions using Federal Government information security policy (i.e. Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework) and the ACSCs Cyber Security principles and guidelines.
