The Role
Joining the Underwater Weapons Integrated Project Team (IPT) as a GW Engineer in Canberra, your pivotal role contributes to the advancement of the Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT) capability. This weapon system has already garnered Gate 0/1 Government Approval and is primed for progression to Gate 2 within the next 12-36 months. Your mission is to facilitate the seamless progression of ALWT, enabling its transition to operational service and ensuring that Australia’s unique requirements are effectively integrated into its development.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Provide critical technical expertise to drive the Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT) weapon capability forward. Your responsibilities encompass multifaceted support, from meticulous technical analysis of Cooperative Program data to logistics and risk management. You will negotiate acquisition contracts, ensuring their alignment with post-Gate 2 objectives. The role demands a keen involvement in integration plans, documentation preparation, and data support to platforms. Your adept stakeholder management skills come into play, ensuring that all relevant entities are well-informed and aligned. Additionally, your role extends to contributing to crucial decision-making processes by providing well-prepared plans, documentation, and support to executive and government committees.

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering or related fields and more than 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Your expertise lies in the domain of specialist engineering, particularly in the realm of guided weapons engineering.
  • Capable of handling various facets of technical analysis, contract negotiation, logistics support, and stakeholder management.
  • NV1 security clearance essential.

The Benefits and Risk Management Specialist will undertake a range of activities to support the effective and efficient management of benefits and risks for the agency’s program. Providing high level support to the Assistant Commissioners (ACs) and Director, including preparing and reviewing high-level documentation and correspondence, managing complex scheduling requirements, and coordinating workflow.

The role will works closely with the Program and Organisational Transformation Division (OTD) leadership teams to ensure that actions are followed up and completed on time. This role will also involve managing strategic activities for the Program.


The Role
Benefits realisation management (BRM) is a process of identifying, planning, managing and evaluating the intended benefits of an investment. BRM informs investment decisions and establishes plans to realise intended benefits. The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Leading a review of the benefits management for the Program. This will include updating any associated documentation including benefit profiles and registers and facilitation benefit and risk workshops to review and update the program benefits and risks.
  • Uplifting benefits reporting capability to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Support the Program to develop an approach to benefits management for the Program that aligns with scaled agile methodologies.
  • Build strong and effective relationships with a range of stakeholders with key internal stakeholders, building understanding and commitment to benefits realisation and ongoing management.
  • Support building program management capability within the Program Office team. This includes coaching and mentoring regarding actively managing the benefits for the Program.
  • Contribute to team planning, coordination and workflow management and shaping the teams work program in alignment with the Program objectives.
  • Additional tasks as directed

The Role
An opportunity is now available to join the Adelaide team as a Capability Manager. In this role you are responsible for assessing and proposing strategies that align to customer expectations for Industrial Capability in relation to current, tendered and quoted projects. It includes Australian Sovereign Capabilities, Engagement with SMEs, Systems Integration, Manufacturing, Import Replacement, R&D, and identification of Export opportunities.

The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Develop, publish and maintain policy and procedures relating to industry capability
  • Identify customer and industry trends, and anticipate future developments
  • Research customer requirements and critical success factors prior to tender release
