Position : SOE Integration Engineer

The Role

As the successful candidate you will conduct capability development, as well as design, build, maintenance and configuration control tasks. This is inclusive of capability development and configuration control tasks of software integration and SOE deployment design (including scripting, build automation, application packaging).
This position requires a combination of disciplines including technical hands-on communications engineering, innovation, test and evaluation, and documentation. As a technical subject matter expert within a small team you will also be expected to contribute to the design of deployable solutions, data centre and/or network integration solutions, as well as review project design documentation and provide advice on integration across the department’s interfaces.
About the role
The following activities and deliverables are envisaged during the term of this engagement:
- Leverage Automation & Orchestration toolsets in alignment with the department’s DEVOPS practices including technologies such as:
- Powershell/PowerCLI
- Ansible
- GitLab
- Other industry standard DEVOPS toolsets
- Provide support to Deployable Local Area Networks and static networks within LNIC, based on the following technologies:
- Windows Operating Systems (Server 2016 and Windows 10 or later)
- Microsoft Enterprise Applications including:
- Essential: Active Directory, Local & Group Policy configuration in both connected and disconnected network, Microsoft DHCP, DNS, NPS, Microsoft Certificate Services (PKI)
- Desirable: Microsoft Exchange Server (2016 or later), Microsoft SharePoint (2016 or later), Microsoft SQL (2016 or later), Microsoft RDS
- Enterprise Endpoint Security solutions
- Design, build and manage various SOEs leveraging technologies including:
- Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
- Microsoft EndPoint Configuration Manager
- Microsoft InTune
- Package, Install, configure and administer software applications (predominately Windows servers and applications, though Linux experience is also desirable)
- Provide technical support as directed to Army exercises for specific technologies and systems.
- Develop system design documentation, and maintain configuration control of the SOE environment, documentation, as well as the various implementations on the Test and Development and Production Mission Command environments.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to developing capabilities via the designated framework to enable a digitally integrated system within a Joint and Coalition Force.
- Propose innovation activities to assess emerging technologies that may support a ‘future ready’ system.
- Provide other related services as tasked by the SO2 Design (Staff Officer Grade 2) and the Executive group.
The candidate requirements
- Minimum Qualifications, and practical experience in the skills described previously.
- Extensive (greater than 10 years) relevant experience; preferably within Government Local Area Networks within the deployable Defence domain.
- Exposure or experience working with deployed networks.
- Exposure with network integration at the tactical and operational levels within the ADF, including interfaces to strategic network boundaries.
- Experience applying security best practises in compliance with the Information Security Manual (ISM)
- The ability to integrate into a high functioning team and to manage their own time and priorities effectively.

Position : Systems Engineer

Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced Systems Engineer contractor with Department of Defence experience to work on the various stages of the project lifecycle.
The Role:
The contractor will be expected to act in a technical hands-on role, with responsibility as the subject matter expert lead for software design & applications as well as middleware & routing. The contractor will also assist with system administration and test tool development, which will require the key person to have programming aptitude.
- Provide SME advice on in-service or emerging components of communications networks and their interfaces
- Provide engineering management oversight of the system configuration, processes and personnel.
- As directed, investigate emerging waveforms through desktop analysis and trials.
- Support the development and deployment of test tools and procedures within the team.
- Provide SME advice on in-service or emerging systems and standards
- Support the development of test threads.
- Attend and inform program/project events.
- Develop and coordinate operational analysis supporting tests and trials with Army and other Defence organisations.
- Support risk reduction trials and acceptance tests for systems.
- Apply the APS code of conduct and principles of equity and diversity, fraud and ethics, and OH&S.

The Candidate:
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and/or Systems Engineering
- Software development experience (including work done independently or as part of a small team).
- It is highly desirable that contractor involved in this task has:
- Experience in the use of middleware for distributed applications
- Extensive Network programming experience, including:
- Familiarity with the ethernet/IP headers and packet structuring for the development of inspection and filtering rules
- Familiarity with writing software linking to raw packet capture libraries (libpcap)
- Experience in web front-end development.
- Experience with unified modelling language
- Experience with writing acceptance test procedures
- Knowledge of deployable ADF command and control systems
- Formal training in (or has equivalent experience in) the deployment and administration of large scale virtualised environments (ESXi)
- Experience with conducting data and configuration management, particularly within documentation; and software and hardware baselines
- Training or certifications in project management or business analysis qualifications.
- A currently active security clearance of at least NV1 is required for the role

As a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Specialist and/or Dynamics CRM Portal Specialist, you will work as part of a highly motivated and cohesive team using agile approaches to design, develop, implement, and support Dynamics CRM online business solutions.
About the role
The Deliverables for the Dynamics CRM/Portal/Azure Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:
- Requirement / user story review feedback
- Solution designs, including options analysis where several viable solutions may be possible
- Developed Dynamics CRM based solution, in accordance with the agreed design, to deliver the capabilities required by the business requirements
- Develop solution documentation and configuration/code comments
- Peer solution/code review feedback
- Release/deployment/implementation documentation
- Work in DevOps framework to support the deployed solutions
The candidate requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with the design, development and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM business solutions
