The Role:
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Lead the design, build, test and operation of security systems within a complex IT network
- Lead the security system authorisation process based on NIST 800-37 RMF
- Perform threat and risk assessments
- Develop and manage security control baselines
- Guide technical staff on implementation of security controls
- Conduct control compliance audits
- Plan and supervise vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop a plan for ongoing security actions and milestones
- Manage regular security testing and monitoring
- Ensure access to IT systems is limited to role and user needs
- Establish an incident response plan and supporting playbooks
- Manage, develop and implement IT security policies and documentation that meet ASD and Defence requirements
- Support, plan and conduct test and evaluation activities for deliverable systems and products.
- As required, undertake any other tasks as requested by the Technical team

Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced Knowledgebase Author contractor for a government department.
The Role:
The Knowledgebase Author supports the Knowledgebase Manager in the development and implementation of knowledge management tools and processes through identifying, creating, representing and distributing information on problems, incidents and requests within the department’s Service Operations Section of the Digital Technology Branch, including participating in section planning for short term tasks and work area planning for longer term initiatives.
The role is responsible for undertaking work that is moderately complex and/or sensitive in nature, under limited direction, utilising expertise and knowledge within the area of service management.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the Knowledgebase including systems, tools, resources, artefacts, and training modules for service desk staff and the department’s staff, knowledgebase policies, and processes in alignment with the ITIL framework.
- Managing knowledgebase content throughout the documentation lifecycle, including document creation, review, implementation, upkeep, reviews, responses to feedback, and managing topics; including general operations of the knowledgebase space involving creating and modifying document workflows, identifying content owners, and reviewing expiring or ageing documentation.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation and service management system design specifications; and the documentation of new processes in consultation with business representatives, Subject Matter Experts, and other specialists.
- Research knowledge management requirements and tools and advise on their applicability in the department’s environment and their projects.
- Provide analysis on complex issues and contribute to the management, preparation and coordination of policy formulation and/or project management.
- Develop and support key internal and external relationships, including managing stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals. In addition, represent the agency by promoting it’s interests in various forums.
- Make and communicate decisions using good judgement, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
- Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities, milestones and responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.
The Candidate:
Essential criteria
- Understanding in the application of the ITIL framework and its relationship with service and knowledge management.
- Understanding of applying service and knowledge management practices across an organisation and within a knowledgebase.
- Knowledge and experience in documenting service desk support artefacts and tools for clients, and maintaining a knowledgebase.
- Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time.

Position : Cyber GRC Specialist

The Role:
The role of the Cyber GRC Specialist is for an experienced cyber security Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) practitioner to provide cyber security services to the agency. A specific deliverable during the initial engagement will be to progress the GRC work around any agency systems required to be modified or developed in preparation for the next anticipated major federal event.
Extended hours and weekend work are required during key event periods. Extensions are possible depending on proximity to the next anticipated major federal event.
Key position responsibilities
- Providing specialist cyber security advice to agency projects
- Providing advice agency-wide to enhance security operations and practices in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework, Information Security Manual and Australian Signals Directorate’s (ASD) Essential Eight Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Incidents.
- Creating governance documentation as required.
- Assisting with implementing cyber security work packages to produce an environment that supports the secure and effective delivery of projects.
- Assisting the Cyber Security team as needed
The Candidate:
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework and Essential Eight
- Demonstrated experience and capability performing a cyber security GRC role.

The Role:
The Service Desk Analyst Key Tasks/Duties may include some or all of the following:
- Assist staff via phone, email, remote and onsite support with faults, issues, incidents and service requests within an ITIL framework.
- Record accurate, timelyand meaningful data in relation to client follow ups, requests and communication.
- Undertake and administer support for staff by providing
consistent, professional and timely support and guidance to staff on program and IT areas.
- Provide on-call support after hours on a rostered basis.
- Determine software and hardware requirements to provide solutions to
problems. Install and configure software and hardware, and repair and replace peripheral equipment.
- Ensure all service support knowledgebase and artefacts, and policies and procedures are followed at all times to ensure consistency and compliance of service.
- Assist in the development and updating of knowledgebase articles, and standard operating processes and procedures.
- Coordinate with team members and other support areas to provide resolution of issues, including the escalation of more complex issues to management and technical teams as required.
