The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our client’s team in Sydney. As the Structural Engineer you will work closely with the client company’s management and report to the Director.

The Role
The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Engage with project design stakeholders including structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, architectural and the client
  • Review structural design documentation for relevant considerations
  • Development of design risk profile to define design considerations in accordance with code of practice.
  • Development of detailed design documents primarily consisting of layouts and detailed sections.
  • Conduct value engineering of various design options raised throughout the design process.
  • Prepare correspondence and liaise with stakeholders
  • Ensure works are conducted within our scope of engagement
  • Training and support of junior staff in professional development
  • Provide ongoing expert advice during the consultation process.
  • Onsite inspection of building for documentation.


The Candidate 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Geo-technical or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation is desirable.
  • Experience in civil, geotechnical or structural design position.
  • Experience conducting site / field-based work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and prepare proposals
  • Ability to build and develop relationships at all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Working to deadlines and ensuring the work is of the highest standard
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to understand/interpret data, and create action plans
  • Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously to drive business objectives
  • Show initiative in identifying processes to improve and the ability to impart your ideas

The agency is seeking 2 skilled Senior Java Developers to assist with Java development tasks for the maintenance and evolution of their system. The system currently has a .NET front-end, Java backend (Unix/Linux/AWS), Oracle PL/SQL, ARCGIS. This role is to maintain and enhance the backend including JEE, Tomcat and Spring applications.

The Role
The successful candidate must have the following minimum skills:

  • Develop enterprise-grade software using Java and RDB technologies
  • Design, create and manage solutions on AWS Cloud
  • Design data models, translate to physical data models and implement using a database
  • Implement CRUD operations on the database using Java Object-Relational Mapping frameworks
  • Produce and maintain detailed design artifacts & technical specifications
  • Create and work with RESTful OpenAPI specifications, SOAP WSDLs, XML Schemas
  • Develop and maintain DevOps workflows using Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Maven


The Candidate
Mandatory criteria:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in analysis, design, planning, support, documentation, and presentation contexts.
  • Ability to work autonomously, especially to ask questions, engage with business and gather requirements
  • At least 8 years Java experience, enterprise design patterns, JPA, Hibernate ORM, JEE an advantage, data structures, concurrency.
  • Technical skills:
    • Broad experience with internal and external data integrations, e.g., SOAP and REST APIs, OpenAPI/XSD Schemas, XML/JSON, JMS.
    • AWS development (EC2, Lambdas, API Gateway, Beanstalk, S3, SQS, CloudFormation).
    • Unix/Linux, Bash.
    • Maven, Artifact Repositories, Continuous Integration, Unit and System Integration testing.
  • Major database experience, including data modelling, stored procedures. Oracle preferred.
  • Willingness to be 24×7 on-call. Historically calls escalated to the dev team between 10pm and 6am are rare, one per year.

Desirable criteria:

  • Reactive programming.
  • Spring/SpringBoot.
  • Work as a member of an integrated Agile team comprising technical and non-technical personnel
  • Strong commitment to software engineering processes and a proven ability to develop robust and maintainable software given complex requirements.

The Role

  • Accurate records are maintained for PM to use to manage projects.
  • Neat and accurate client related documents produced and provided to Project Manager as per project requirements.
  • Support and assist the Project Manager in the contract management of the head and sub/trade contracts.
  • Assist the Project Manager implement the Integrated Management System requirements on the project.

  • Maintain concise and accurate cost and project documentation for the Project Manager including reports that shows payments are received and made on time and financial reporting is on time, accurate and show good financial management practices.
  • Ensure the highest level of accuracy and professionalism is maintained in all areas of client and service provision. This includes ensuring the timeframes for processing of relevant documentation are actioned in accordance with company policy and procedures.
