Gateway Synergy is looking for experienced Test Engineer contractors for a government agency.

The government agency is seeking to identify suitable Candidates to perform the role of Test Engineers, from junior levels to expert and manager levels, to support the agency achieve overall testing strategies, managing effective planning, monitoring and execution of all testing activities within the agency.

Test Engineers ensure that their test effort is effectively executed and that allocated activities are completed in a structured, consistent manner in accordance with agreed test guidelines. They use their in-depth knowledge to provide technical advice and development to less experienced testers. They exercise a degree of independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that require reliance on skills and knowledge. Test Engineers plan their own work and contribute to teamwork goals in the context of competing priorities, and changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.

The Role
Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:

  • manage the timely delivery of testing outcomes and the quality of testing processes
  • plan, develop, and manage test cases for different types of testing at various stages of testing on appropriate testing platforms
  • liaise with project teams to ensure appropriate methodology and testing tools are used for testing processes
  • review complex test cases from team members to ensure quality
  • contribute to the approach for scripting, test data requirements gathering, and test data gathering
  • define and document requirements for test environments
  • develop and manage team improvement initiatives and projects, including team tools and process changes
  • identify, analyse, manage and report on trends of defects, programming errors and inconsistent operational characteristics
  • conduct complex testing to ensure the ICT service functions as per requirements
  • undertake test effort estimation and manage resources to ensure project deliverables are met
  • lead and support operations of the team, including monitoring business performance, setting priorities, and managing resources and workflow
  • develop staff capability through coaching and mentoring to increase performance and engagement
  • contribute to and influence ICT strategy resolving conflicts as needed
  • monitor and manage work output and quality, against established performance standards through interpretation of quality analysis and reporting
  • report on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to manage performance
  • proactively share knowledge and expertise, and provide assistance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues
  • prepare and review a range of written material including technical and corporate documentation
  • assist with the management of finances, resources and budget requirements and issues within area of responsibility
  • collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
  • engage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
  • encourage innovation, continuous improvement and manage and support change

The Candidate:
Skills for the Information Age (SFIA) required:

  • Testing TEST – Level 5
  • Methods and tools METL – Level 5
  • Performance management PEMT- Level 5
  • Specialist advice TECH – Level 5
  • Stakeholder relationship management – Level 4

Ability to:

The Document Controller (DC) is to coordinate the timely, accurate and efficient preparation and management of documents. Working as part of the Project Management Office, the core work initially will be supporting the delivery of documentation to key stakeholders. The Document Controller will be required to work collaboratively with a range of internal stakeholders, subcontractors and customer base.

The Role:
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Undertake the review of technical and project documentation such as reports and plans, while ensuring that they are optimised for delivery to customers and stakeholders.
  • Working with project team members to track the progress of documentation deliverables to ensure timely submissions.
  • Ensuring that all documentation is filed and stored correctly in the SharePoint document management system.
  • Work with all contributing parties, including our subcontractors, to ensure the quality of all deliverables and exchanges with potential subcontractors are exceptional.

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in computer science, business administration or a similar field is preferred.
  • Cert IV in Business or other administration certification is essential.
  • Minimum 5 years in similar role.
  • Experience in Defence sector.
  • Security Clearance: Baseline or NV1 preferred.
