The Role
As a Junior EO Engineer specialising in LRASM (Long Range Anti-Ship Missile) within MEOSPO, your role is integral to the Entry into Service Engineering Activities. Operating within the strategic landscape of guided weapons engineering, you contribute significantly to the development, integration, and management of weapon systems. Your responsibilities encompass planning, preparing, and executing weapon integration activities, aligning meticulously with platforms’ requirements. By factoring in technical risk, dependencies, schedule, cost, and Fundamental Inputs to Capability elements, you ensure the seamless integration of LRASM.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Effective execution of weapon integration activities. This includes the formulation of comprehensive plans, schedules, and execution strategies that account for various elements such as technical risk and dependencies. Additionally, you play a vital role in generating cost models, contributing to schedules, conducting risk reduction studies, and actively engaging stakeholders. By nurturing your guided weapons engineering expertise, you contribute significantly to the ongoing development and enhancement of capabilities, ensuring the continual advancement of MEOSPO’s strategic objectives.

The Role
Joining as a GW Engineer in the Underwater Weapons Integrated Project Team (IPT), you play a pivotal role in the advancement of the Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT) capability. With Gate 0/1 Government Approval in 2020 and anticipated progression to Gate 2 within 12-36 months, your mission revolves around propelling ALWT and its associated documentation towards successful integration and operational deployment.
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Providing robust technical support, your expertise aids the progress of Advanced Lightweight Torpedo (ALWT) by analysing Cooperative Program technical data and ensuring Australia’s specific requirements are integrated into developmental decisions. You adeptly negotiate acquisition contracts, ensuring seamless post-Gate 2 implementation. Collaboration extends to assisting platforms with integration, offering crucial data support, and managing logistics, risk, and asset considerations. Your role involves preparing comprehensive plans, documentation, and support for pivotal executive and government decisions. Effective stakeholder management, including supporting the Capability Manager, enhances your engagement. You also actively contribute to the Underwater Weapons IPT, potentially involving preparatory arrangements and minute taking.

- Relevant qualifications in Engineering or related fields and more than 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Your expertise lies in the domain of specialist engineering, particularly in the realm of guided weapons engineering.

- Your record includes developing professional artifacts in line with international standards, such as requirement specifications, design documents, reports, V&V plans, hazard analyses, guided weapon certification, contract documentation, and plans.
- Ideally, you also possess experience contributing to a project’s progression through the One Defence Capability System.
