Position : Explosive Ordnance Engineer

The Role
As an EO Engineer within the Air and Missile Defence Integrated Project Team (IPT), your role holds a critical place in the advancement of key acquisition projects. These projects encompass Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles (ESSM), Standard Missile 2 (SM2), Standard Missile 6, and Future Air and Missile Defence Weapons. Your expertise is vital in fostering the development of effective plans and integration strategies, ensuring the success of these crucial defence systems.

The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Actively contribute to the formulation of plans aligned with Maritime and Munitions capabilities, ensuring adherence to policy, guidance, and industry best practices. Your technical acumen will be instrumental in shaping weapon integration activities, schedules, and platforms. This involves addressing technical risks, dependencies, costs, and Fundamental Inputs to Capability elements. Additionally, your role encompasses support for Financial Management, Risk Management, Reporting, and Strategic Support activities. You’ll play a significant role in coordinating projects and ensuring accurate documentation. Furthermore, your involvement extends to preparing for future capabilities, including providing advice and assistance for Pre-Gate 0 processes in consultation with Navy. Your contribution to the preparation of tender and contract materials underscores the seamless progress of these projects.

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering or related fields and more than 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Well-versed in specialist engineering, particularly in guided weapons engineering.
  • Expertise in planning, integration, and documentation.
  • NV1 security clearance essential.
