The Role:
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Security Experts use their in-depth knowledge of ICT security models to provide expert advice on the creation and operational maintenance of system roles, access authorisations, and security profiles. They exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision-making substantially dependent on their high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications. In performing a technical leadership role, Security Experts drive innovation, changes in workplace practices, and organise work in the context of competing
    priorities and strategic direction.
  • Cyber Penetration Testing Team Leads operate under broad direction, exercising sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice. They may engage in complex problem solving and issues management. They may also coordinate and undertake detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for the agency. Cyber Penetration Testing Team Leads are also responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships within and outside the agency and may manage one or more work teams.
  • Cyber Threat Intelligence roles undertake work under broad direction and exercise a considerable degree of independence while performing a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice. They may engage
    in complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and undertake detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for the agency. The Cyber Threat Intelligence is also responsible for actively managing key
    stakeholder relationships within and outside the agency and may manage one or more work teams.

The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Basement Design Specialist to join our client’s team in Sydney. As the Senior Remedial Engineer you will work closely with the client company’s management and report to the Director.

The Role
The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Guide basement design process with all stakeholders in accordance with BS8102:2022 Code of
    Practice for Protection of Structures Against Water ingress
  • Engage with project design stakeholders including structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, architectural
    and the client during the design development process.
  • Review geotechnical report data for considerations relevant to basement design risk.
  • Review structural design documentation for considerations relevant to basement design risk.
  • Development of basement design risk profile to define design considerations in accordance with the BS8102:2022 code of practice.
  • Development of detailed design documents primarily consisting of layouts and detailed sections.
  • Conduct value engineering of various design options raised throughout the design process.
  • Prepare correspondence and liaise with stakeholders
  • Management of tasks delegated to design team support staff.
  • Ensure design works are conducted within our scope of engagement
  • Training and support of junior staff in professional development
  • Provide ongoing expert advice during the construction process.
  • Onsite inspection of work in progress for compliance with design documentation.


The Candidate 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Geo-technical or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer accreditation is desirable.
  • Experience in civil, geotechnical or structural design position.
  • Experience with design in accordance with BS8102 code of practice
  • Experience conducting site / field-based work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and prepare proposals
  • Ability to build and develop relationships at all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Working to deadlines and ensuring the work is of the highest standard
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to understand/interpret data, and create action plans
  • Ability to self-motivate and work autonomously to drive business objectives

Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced Security Analyst contractor.

The security infrastructure analyst will have experience in performing current state analysis, requirements analysis definition and implementation of cyber security monitoring and reporting services, specifically with regards to secure gateway operations, monitoring and related Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services.

Skills and experience in IBM QRadar, network gateways and the Mitre Att&ck and Mitre D3fend frameworks are preferred. Provide security analysis of the current state, report options and recommendations, and specify an uplift and enhancement program for the reporting of cyber metrics to Customers of the Services Australia Shared Services Gateway.

Primary Technologies: QRadar, Secure Internet Gateways, Network security engineering and operations.

The Role:
The Security Analyst’s Key Tasks/Duties may include some or all of the following:

  • Elicit, analyse and manage security requirements to meet demand.
  • Manage the prioritisation and escalation of security issues.
  • Communicate the end-to-end implications of security configuration changes.
  • Analyse the cyber security impacts of requests for change management.
  • Provide detailed specialist technical infrastructure security advice, including strategic advice to the senior executive where appropriate.
  • Proactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert, and provide assistance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of cyber security strategies, policy and procedures and change initiatives.
  • Undertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on products and suitability for the agency.
  • Prepare, review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans.
  • Support procedures, encourage innovation, continuous improvement and manage and support change.


The Candidate:
Mandatory criteria

  • Demonstrated experience and success with analysing gateway and network security monitoring solutions in large complex environments, including specialist knowledge of SIEM configuration, SOC operations and reporting.

Weighted Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in the configuration and deployment of IBM QRadar, use case development and associated reporting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry Cyber Security frameworks, best practices and standards including the Mitre Att&ck and D3fend frameworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with security requirements and solutions with regard to Federal Government information security policy (i.e. Information Security Manual, Protective Security Policy Framework) and the ACSCs Cyber Security principles and guidelines

  • $1000-$2000/day contracting rate for the right candidate
  • 5 month contracting role, 2 possible 6 month extensions

The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Remedial Engineer to join our client’s team in Sydney. As the Senior Remedial Engineer you will take primary responsibility for the remedial engagements of the client company, looking at ways to expand the business offering and engagement in this sector. You will apply and develop your knowledge and experience to provide our clients with advice, design creation and reports on a range of waterproofing related design, compliance, material and construction scenarios. Communicating with designers, developers, builders, asset owners and subcontractors to provide a combination of on-site and off-site services you will ensure that waterproofing works are designed and executed in compliance with NCC, Australian Standards and best practice requirements.

The Role
The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Apply knowledge and expertise to diagnose deterioration and support
    development of scopes for appropriate remedial action
  • Review and prepare design documentation on nominated projects
  • Oversee the develop reports for design and material selection compliance.
  • Attend and contribute to workshop meetings for construction projects during both design and construction phases
  • Preparation of performance solutions and other compliance documentation
  • Provide verbal and written advice on waterproofing compliance with Australian Standards, National Construction Code and best practice guides.
  • Oversight and development of staff in the remedial department
  • Allocate time to networking and professional development, follow-up clients and industry professionals
  • Involvement in critical business strategy and decision making that will define the future of the company


The Candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Building Design, Engineering or similar.
  • Registered Design Practitioner is preferred (architectural, structural, facade)
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant design experience
  • Knowledge of buildings codes (NCC/BCA), Australian Standards, and relevant best practice guides
  • Experience in a senior architectural is highly desirable.
  • Experience with construction waterproofing and interfacing building elements
  • Construction OHS Certificate (White Card), or commitment to attain one
  • Proven ability in managing projects, dealing with clients, consultants, team members and other relevant stakeholders
