The Role
An opportunity is now available to join the Adelaide team as a Capability Manager. In this role you are responsible for assessing and proposing strategies that align to customer expectations for Industrial Capability in relation to current, tendered and quoted projects. It includes Australian Sovereign Capabilities, Engagement with SMEs, Systems Integration, Manufacturing, Import Replacement, R&D, and identification of Export opportunities.

The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Develop, publish and maintain policy and procedures relating to industry capability
  • Identify customer and industry trends, and anticipate future developments
  • Research customer requirements and critical success factors prior to tender release
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities for local industrial capability identifying and optimising the contribution of primes, OEMs, and SMEs.
  • Perform initial viability analyses for stakeholder review and agreement
  • Maintain knowledge of current Australian Defence industrial policies and programs
  • Own, plan, coordinate content and contribute to AIC tender volumes 
  • Participate on tender teams as allocated
  • Oversee the implementation of agreed industrial capabilities utilising internal resources
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry organisations, Defence and Industry Departments, and other industrial and academic stakeholders positioning company for recognition of support for government policy
  • Participate in relevant customer roadshows and company events as assigned
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal capability and process specialists and stakeholders, clearly explaining Australian requirements
  • Identify opportunities to obtain state and federal Government funding/support of Industrial Opportunities
  • Work in accordance with WHSE Policies, Plans, Procedures, Processes, SOP’s, JSEA’s, Risk Assessments and SDS requirements.
  • Participate in the identification, assessment and management of WHSE risks.
  • Actively participate in WHSE discussions and seek clarification where WHSE issues are not clearly understood.
  • Comply with all reasonable WHSE directives.
  • Comply with all Policies and Procedures, Processes and Work Instructions.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.


The Candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Stakeholder Management skills
  • Product and Capability development life cycle experience
  • Degree level Engineering qualifications, previous commercial exposure
  • Similar roles in Defence or adjacent industries preferred.

The business analyst sits within the Projects Governance and Support team, within the ICT Services Branch. The Projects Governance and Support team are responsible for the successful delivery of a range of projects, enhancements to existing applications and business as usual (BAU) activities, and work collaboratively with each of the business areas within the department.

The department is looking for an experienced business analyst to join an established project team to identify, document and manage changes to both existing and new business processes and functionality. The successful candidate will also use their sound communication and interpersonal skills to work positively and effectively as a part of the department’s software delivery team.

Duties and Tasks:
Through experience, analytical and technical skills, the successful candidate will be able to:

  • Rapidly gain an understanding of the department’s technical framework and capabilities;
  • Work in partnership with the stakeholders to identify and gather requirements
  • Work closely with the stakeholders to ensure requirements captured in team backlogs have sufficient detail and are prioritised appropriately.

Essential criteria

  • Extensive business analysis knowledge and experience.
  • Solid understanding and demonstration of practical application of agile principles and practices (industry qualifications are desirable but not essential).
  • Confidence and experience in facilitating workshops and online (remote) collaboration.
  • Experience producing analysis and project artefacts such as process maps, functional decomposition models, functional and non-functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment within multi-disciplinary product teams.

As the company is expanding, they are currently looking for a Major Loss Supervisor to join their Sydney team for residential building insurance work to assess damages and repairs.

The Role
An opportunity is now available to join the Sydney team as a Major Loss Supervisor. In this role you will attend sites and provide supervision of trades and comprehensive scopes of works to allow for accurate repairs. The role includes (but not limited to):

  • Write building insurance assessment reports
  • Supervise building reinstatement works
  • Engage, coordinate and manage trades during the restoration process for buildings damaged by insurable events
  • Communicate and negotiate with trades to track the progress of jobs
  • Liaise between both insurance companies and insured parties
  • Coordinate access to properties with insured parties
  • Dispute/issue resolution as required
  • Ensure all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements
  • Ensure all inspections, certificates of final inspection from Building Surveyor and relevant documentation is signed off
  • Build cost estimations and repair methodology for residential buildings
  • Manage the tender bid submission process on complex, major loss and residential insurance construction projects
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders and attend site to develop detailed, custom bid submissions
  • Grow relationships with Contractors, Loss Adjusters & Insurers Representatives
  • Be supported by an extensive internal team, great systems and an engaged management team


The Candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in residential building project management, experience within insurance building is highly desirable but not essential
  • Holds a construction Project Management degree OR trade background
  • A self-starter with excellent communication skills and attention to detail, who enjoys working as part of a dynamic team.
