The Role
The agency is seeking candidates who hold active NV2 or TSPV security clearances. Please clearly indicate the level held within your responses.
Software Developers deliver innovative capabilities by developing and integrating software, documenting technical processes and assisting with testing and deployment.

We require multiple APS5 equivalent Software Developers to fill positions across the organisation. A merit pool will be created for future positions that may arise. A suitable candidates will be required to complete the agency’s Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA). This will be required either prior to commencing or within 12 months of commencement, as required by the assigned work area. The agency will allocate successful candidates to work areas based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, integrate, deliver and document software capability that meets business requirements.

The Candidate
Essential Criteria:

  • PROG 3 – Programming/software development: Level 3 (SFIA) Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result. Monitors and reports on progress. Identifies issues related to software development activities. Proposes practical solutions to resolve issues. Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.
  • ASUP 3 – Application support: Level 3 (SFIA) Follows agreed procedures to identify and resolve issues with applications. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
  • RELM 3 – Release and deployment: Level 3 (SFIA) Uses approved tools and techniques for specific deployment activities. Administers the recording of activities, logging of results and documents technical activities undertaken.
  • TEST 2 – Testing: Level 2 (SFIA) Designs test cases, creates test scripts and test data, and automates repeatable tasks working to the requirements or specifications provided. Defines test conditions for given requirements. Executes and records manual and automated testing in accordance with test plans. Analyses and reports on test activities, results, issues and risks.
  • SYSP 3 – System software: Level 3 (SFIA) Monitors operational systems for resource usage and failure rates, to inform and facilitate system software tuning. Applies system software parameters to maximise throughput and efficiency. Installs and tests new versions of system software. Contributes to preparation of software implementation procedures with fall back contingency plans.

Technical skills

  • Experience in development languages/frameworks such as Python, Java, Java Messaging Service, Javascript/ Typescript, J2EE, RESTful web services, Django and Ruby, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
  • Experience in or knowledge of Puppet, Ansible and Docker automation tools.

Highly Desirable:

  • Candidates must have an NV2 or TSPV security clearance.

The Role
The agency is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join their team of innovators who are passionate for the creation, iteration, and maintenance of architecture within the key realm of Cloud embodying the key principles, methods and models that describe the organisation future state. They will interpret business goals and drivers; translate business strategy and objectives into an “operating model”; identify required changes in capabilities; and understand the inter-relationships between people, organisation, service, process, data, information, technology and the external environment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop capability roadmaps, models and plans to drive forward the current Cyber Security strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance
  • Identify system, infrastructure and project interdependencies and balance competing demands to ensure project deliverables are achieved.
  • Deliver capability utilising the systems engineering lifecycle, including the development of system designs and complex design documentation.
  • Manage the target design, policies and standards, working proactively to maintain a stable, viable architecture and ensure consistency of design across projects within the program, and gaining endorsement by the program’s Design Authority.
  • Develop high level designs for IT infrastructure, including network, storage and compute, along with contemporary cloud technologies and security (if applicable). 

The Candidate
Essential Criteria:

  • ARCH 5 – Solution architecture: Level 5 (SFIA) Leads the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Leads the preparation of technical plans and ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available. Ensures that appropriate tools and methods are available, understood and employed in architecture development. Provides technical guidance and governance on solution development and integration. Evaluates requests for changes and deviations from specifications and recommends actions. Ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
  • SCTY 5 – Information security: Level 5 (SFIA) Provides advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards. Contributes to development of information security policy, standards and guidelines. Obtains and acts on vulnerability information and conducts security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems. Investigates major breaches of security, and recommends appropriate control improvements. Develops new architectures that mitigate the risks posed by new technologies and business practices.
  • DESN 5 – Systems design: Level 5 (SFIA) Designs large or complex systems and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs. Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Cloud Systems or related field. Detailed experience with Critical Infrastructure network security
