Position : Azure Platform Engineer (Data & Analytics)

Location : ACT

Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced Azure Platform Engineer contractor for a government department.

The Role:
A division in the Department is looking for Azure Platform Engineers who have experience in managing cloud hosted infrastructure using infrastructure as code in support of data and analytics workloads.

The roles will be responsible for the detailed solution design, development, and implementation of infrastructure in Azure in support of data and analytics workloads. These outcomes are delivered using an infrastructure as code deployment model using Terraform.

The successful candidates will have experience with the following platforms and technology:
1. Azure Cloud

• Azure hosted Data and Analytics Platforms such as:
  • Data Lake
  • SQL Databases
  • Azure Databricks
  • Synapse Analytics
• Azure security features such as:
  • Networking
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Policy

2. Infrastructure as Code

• Terraform based infrastructure management
• Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines

3. Infrastructure as a Service hosted platforms

• ArcGIS Enterprise
• Virtual Machine hosted services

4. Desirable: Experience with legacy data technology solutions – Oracle, Ingres, SQL Server, Wintel Server Network file shares

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

• Experience designing, building and maintaining cloud hosted platforms and services (Infrastructure, Platform and Software as a Service)
• Experience developing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure using an infrastructure as code (IaC) approach
• Understanding of cloud security features for platforms and services such as Identity and Access Management, Networking and Policy
• Experience working in Data and Analytics focused projects (Data Engineering, Storage or Data Science)
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams using an Agile methodology

Desirable criteria

• Experience working with Data Lake
• Experience working with Geospatial platforms

• Up to $2000/day contracting rate for the right candidate
• 12 month contracting role, 2 x 12 month extensions
