Position : Security Lead

Location : Brisbane

Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced Security Lead contractor for a government department. An exciting opportunity is open for exciting roles at a rapidly growing 6-year project. Be part of a team that makes meaningful changes and improves Australian lives. 

This is an opportunity to relocate to Canberra to work in an exciting govt department. The role will involve being sponsored to receive TS PV 

The Role:
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Lead the design, build, test and operation of security systems within a complex IT network 
• Lead the security system authorisation process based on NIST 800-37 RMF 
• Perform threat and risk assessments 
• Develop and manage security control baselines 
• Guide technical staff on implementation of security controls 
• Conduct control compliance audits
• Plan and supervise vulnerability assessments and penetration testing 
• Develop a plan for ongoing security actions and milestones 
• Manage regular security testing and monitoring 
• Ensure access to IT systems is limited to role and user needs 
• Establish an incident response plan and supporting playbooks 
• Manage, develop and implement IT security policies and documentation that meet ASD and Defence requirements
• Support, plan and conduct test and evaluation activities for deliverable systems and products.
• As required, undertake any other tasks as requested by the Technical team

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

• Experience with a similar role, preferably in a government department
• Possesses an NV1 Security clearance or higher
