Position : VMware Engineer

Location : Melbourne

Gateway Synergy is looking for highly experienced VMware Engineer contractor for a government department. An exciting opportunity is open for IT roles for a rapidly growing 6-year project. Be part of a team that makes meaningful changes and improves Australian lives. 

This is an opportunity to relocate to Canberra to work in an exciting govt department. The role will involve being sponsored to receive TS PV

The Role:
The role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Develop and operate a VMware virtualisation platform using VCF
• Develop and operate hardware and software for VCF
• Design, test and deploy new versions of VMware software
• Implement regular checks to confirm system status, including hardware and software
• Provide guidance to other technical team members on developing and operating virtual machines in VCF
• Develop and operate a backup and recovery service for VCF
• Manage performance of the virtual infrastructure and implement improvements to maintain required performance levels
• Provide automation through VMware services
• Troubleshoot and resolve VMware issues
• As required, undertake any other tasks as requested by the Technical team

The Candidate:
Essential criteria

• Experience with a similar role, preferably in a government department
• Possesses an NV1 Security clearance or higher
