The Position
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to join the Toowoomba/Darling Downs Region team on a permanent basis. The Safety Advisor will assist the team in ensuring processes are managed effectively to comply with safety regulations and corporate policies. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance safety practices, conduct site inspections, and support incident investigations, ensuring a safe work environment across the project.
This unique role offers the suitable candidate the opportunity to apply their vast experience in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Projects will range from low to mid rise residential developments to commercial facilities amongst others.
- Maintain records of training, inductions, tickets, licences and applicable qualifications
- Scheduling of workers for training, inductions and upskilling, as required
- Investigate and report on safety incidents
- Update and maintain OH&S policies and procedures
- Develop job-specific Safety Management Plans, SWMS, JSA, and related documentation
- Complete reporting of WHS performance to clients and/or stakeholders
- Conduct regular site safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections
The Candidate
Key capabilities and requirements include:
- A professional, open and honest approach to communication
- Vocational or Tertiary qualifications in Safety (minimum Cert IV)
- Experience in leading safety management on construction projects, including implementation of systems and processes, on-site training and education
- Experience and knowledge of workplace health and safety, quality and environmental management regulations and practices as relative to construction sites
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong grasp of construction methodologies specifically relating to ground works, structures and formwork, with the ability to understand and interpret drawings and design documentation advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a highly developed ability to build and develop positive working relationships.
