The Position
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Sales Estimator to join the team.
As a Sales Estimator, you play a key role in the success of the business. You’ll manage quotes from start to finish, balancing speed with accuracy, and working closely with Sales, Operations, and Production to make sure everyone has what they need.
This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, values structure, and wants to be part of a supportive, professional team.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing clear, accurate, and commercially sound estimates
- Managing quotes end-to-end, from plan review through to final release
- Meeting agreed turnaround times.
- Making sure scopes, product selections, and pricing are right the first time
- Using our estimating and ERP systems with care and consistency
- Proactively seeking clarity when information is missing or unclear
You’ll know you’re doing well when (what success looks like):
- Your estimates are accepted by Production without rework
- Quotes are delivered on time, even during busy periods
- Gross margin is protected through good judgement and attention to detail
- Sales and Operations trust your work and rely on your advice

The Estimating Manager will be responsible to lead the estimating team and deliver accurate, competitive tenders for a wide range of projects. The Candidate
Key capabilities include:
- Oversee the preparation of cost estimates and tenders for commercial and residential projects.

Requirements:

The Position
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a proven Senior Estimator who can act as a key support and right-hand to the Pre-Construction leadership. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, this role is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality cost plans and tender submissions across a diverse range of commercial, residential, and social infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously, take ownership of deliverables, and provide mentoring support to junior team members where required.
The Candidate
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and submit competitive tenders across a range of project types and values.
- Manage the full estimating cycle: measurement, trade package analysis, subcontractor engagement, cost planning, tender submissions, and post-tender negotiations.
- Interpret design documentation, specifications, and contractual requirements in line with Australian building codes and standards.
- Provide accurate cost planning and budgeting support during early design and pre-construction phases.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, design teams, and clients to achieve best-for-project outcomes.
Key Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in developing, managing, and maintaining strong customer/client relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and negotiating subcontractor bills, with proven ability to secure competitive outcomes.
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience in estimating within the Australian construction industry (commercial, residential, industrial, or social infrastructure).
- Proven track record in securing and delivering tenders in the $5M–$100M+ range.
- Strong knowledge of Australian construction codes, standards, and procurement practices.
- Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of Australian building contracts and contract law as it relates to tendering and project delivery.
- Advanced proficiency with estimating software (CostX preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical ability, and commercial judgement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and support negotiations.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team outcomes, and to mentor junior staff as required.
