The Company
My client is a a precious metals refinery located in between Brisbane and Gold Coast. The refinery processes mined gold, silver, scrap jewellery, jewellers bench lemels and sweeps, fossikers nuggets and other material containing precious metals. Once refined precious metals are made into bullion gold/silver and on sold to bullion dealers, investors, banks, superfunds etc.
The Role
An opportunity is now available to join the Gold Coast team as a Lab Technician/Assistant/Manager. The Laboratory Assistant is to report to the Lab Manager and is responsible for the effective and successful management of sampling and analysis of metals and solutions.
Core responsibilities:
- Analyses of samples in accordance with NATA Standards
- Ensure Processes and Procedure are adhered to in accordance with ISO/NATA accreditation/standards
- Performing tests and analyzing data
- Documenting research and production processes
- Prepare solutions for analysis
- Conduct ICP OES/XRF/Titration testing/Fire Assays
- Analysing of solutions
- Manage workflow
And understanding of and experience in either ICP-OES analysis and/ or Fire Assay analysis is desirable.
The candidate
The successful applicant should have the following skills/experience/qualities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent experience
- Familiar with ISO/NATA accreditation/standards
- Can conduct ICP OES/XRF/Titration testing/Fire Assays
- Understanding of and experience in either ICP-OES analysis and/ or Fire Assay analysis is desirable.
